On City of Reality

But isn’t it like life - things happen, good and bad, and we don’t always have cameras or things to record them. Oh you kids and your smartphones nowadays. All we have are our memories, and sometimes, isn’t that enough? Things will be lost to time, dreams forgotten, data lost, things change, and all we can do is not get stuck on the past, but take everything we learned and experienced, and use them to move forward and shape the future. Remember the sins of Didly, the blind self-centeredness of the Paczats, the pride of the Hierarchy - Remember the virtues of Todo, the boldness of Hawk, the openness of AV - And learn and grow from them and make your Reality better. Like all fiction, that’s what the comic was about.

Sorry everyone! I’ve been not answering Asks about City of Reality being down for awhile now, largely because it was down. So, simple semi-depressing explanations - I stopped the comic because it wasn’t rewarding anymore, and a large part of that is my fault for not self-selling my work well enough. Insecurities! And it’s offline because my webmaster dropped the server, and most of the data was lost, and rebuilding everything and updating things to HTML5 was daunting. The combination of the two is why it hasn’t gone back up or why I haven’t built up the motivation to continue yet. I’ve got the stories in mind, I just need to put pen to paper and do them. But comics is exhausting, consuming work, and, well, while I can’t say my passion has dwindled for Reality, my passion has dwindled for drawing Reality.

But good news! A backup was recovered, and I have a new webmaster, and we’ve been talking about how to bring things back up. And a year plus (cough) of doing dinky silly fun stuff has been more than enough of a breather. And money is less of a problem now, kind of. So, no promises, but I’ll be working to get it back up, and, with hope, maybe going again.
